THIS seems to seem up the reaction of Madani backers after PAS lawmaker Zulkifli Ismail chided his political foes for spreading malice that he urged the public “to avoid using the expressway on Dec 24-25” in order “to capitalise on free toll”.
This follows viral social media posts emanating from “Harakatdaily HD – الحراكت” – a self-proclaimed satirical media portal to counter official PAS’ mouthpiece HarakahDaily – that maliciously cited the Jasin MP as saying, “Don’t because of free tolls, everyone encounters a slip of faith”.
“As I use the highway almost daily, all praise to Allah if there is free toll,” rebutted Zulkifli on his Facebook post without naming what action he wishes to take against detractors who badmouthed him.
Editor’s Note: It has to be clarified that there is no free toll as claimed by the so-called fake news.
As per the statement by Works Minister Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, expressway users nationwide – in particular Class 1 vehicle owners – will enjoy 50% discount on toll rate effective 12.01am tomorrow (Dec 23) and Wednesday (Dec 24) in conjunction with the Christmas celebration.
Recount that the 59-year-old Jasin MP who narrowly won in the 2022 national polls by beating his UMNO rival by a mere 322-vote majority has caused a stir among Muslims in July 2024 when he recited the “qunut nazilah” prayers following the six-month suspension of Bersatu’s Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
In historical context, the prayer was traditionally recited in dire circumstances such as the betrayal and murder of Prophet Muhammad’s companions or during major conflicts.
“The use of qunut nazilah should be reserved for situations of extreme injustice such as the historical instances during the time of Prophet Muhammad and the early caliphs,” justified Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail who condemned the use of the prayer to reflect political disagreements as “extreme and inappropriate”.
‘Sue errant portal’
Even though the Melaka PAS commissioner has cleared the air over the spread of fake news which originated from “Harakatdaily HD – الحراكت” over the weekend, some Madani cybertroopers continued to troll him by wondering why “many PAS clerics have lost in defamation suits”.

But this been Zulkifli’s ‘own social media turf’, he seemed to have followers to back him with one commenter exposing that Madani MPs and ministers, too, have their own share of folly by either being ordered by the court of law to apologise or lost in legal suits.

It was further pointed out that Home Minister Saifuddin was ordered by the High Court as recently as in August 2025 to pay RM600,000 in general damages to Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
In fact, the total amount awarded to the PAS election director was RM670,000 which includes an additional RM70,000 in court costs.

At the end of the day, a number of the Islamist party’s diehards advised Zulkifli who is also Central PAS Ulama Council deputy head to initiate legal action against “Harakatdaily HD – الحراكت” which proven to be a major menace to PAS.
