Passport counters to close June 26-30

 The immigration department says submissions for passport applications over the counter and via MyOnline Passport at the affected branches will be unavailable during that period.

The immigration department urged members of the public to plan ahead their passport-related arrangements and refer to the department’s official channels for full details.

PETALING JAYA:

The immigration department will temporarily close passport service counters at 71 passport issuance offices nationwide in phases to facilitate system maintenance works from June 26-30.

In an Instagram post, the department said the first phase would involve the immigration headquarters as well as the branches at Jalan Duta (Kuala Lumpur), Kelana Jaya (Selangor), KLIA and in Melaka.

It will also involve nine urban transformation centres, including those in Puduraya, Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang, Seremban, Ipoh, Sungai Petani and Seberang Perai.

The department said submissions for passport applications over the counter and via MyOnline Passport, as well as passport printing services, would be unavailable during that period.

It urged members of the public to plan their passport needs well ahead of time and refer to the department’s official channels for full details. - FMT
