The Selangor mentri besar’s remarks today came after he failed to amend the state constitution on Monday.
“I will inform (in due time),” Khalid told reporters today when asked about Khusrin’s oath of secrecy which has yet to be taken.
Khalid had said earlier that the state government was considering allowing Khusrin to carry out official duties.
The Selangor state government failed to get the two-thirds majority required to amend Article 52(1) of the state constitution at the emergency state assembly sitting on Monday.
All 34 Pakatan Rakyat (PR) assemblymen voted in favour of the amendment while the 20 Barisan Nasional (BN) representatives present opposed it. PR needed 38 votes to pass the amendments.
The amendment was aimed at allowing the Sultan, instead of the federal Public Service Commission (PSC), to appoint the state secretary, legal advisor and financial officer under the counsel of the mentri besar.
After the Monday vote, Khalid said the state government would file for a judicial review.
Khalid’s attempt to change the constitution was a bid to break the deadlock between Putrajaya and Shah Alam over Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi’s appointment on January 1 as the new state secretary.
The Selangor government had rejected the former Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) director, claiming that Khalid was not informed of the appointment.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan, however, recently claimed that the Selangor constitution did not require him to consult the state government when making such an appointment.
Since his appointment, Khusrin has been banned from attending the state executive council meetings.
Khalid today refused to divulge details of his planned meeting with Khusrin.
“It is not fair to Khusrin,” said the mentri besar.
