A new video clip emerged on the Internet today to attack Sungai Petani MP Datuk Johari Abdul’s credibility with suggestions he had asked “Datuk T” for RM1 million, days after the PKR MP maintained that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was not the man in the sex video released earlier by the three men.
Shortly after the sex video was shown to reporters on March 21 by the “Datuk T” trio of Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Datuk Shuaib Abdul Lazim, Johari revealed that he had watched the video with them at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The PKR man has repeatedly denied that he had agreed that the man in the sex video was Anwar, and said that he had told the trio that.
But a video posting by pro-Umno blogger “Papagomo” (http://www.papagomo.com) today claims otherwise. The 1.59-minute-long video, along with a blog posting quoting Shazryl, alleged that Johari was convinced that Anwar was the man in the sex clip, and that Johari had also asked for RM1 million for himself and RM1 million each for five other MPs who would “leave PKR” after viewing the video.
The latest video clip contains no evidence to suggest he had asked for money.
Johari (picture) is seen in the video entering a hotel room accompanied by the “Datuk T” trio, and then subsequently seated in front of a television. A hidden camera is believed to have been placed in front of the television, thereby giving a view of Johari’s reaction as well as behaviour while with Shazryl, Rahim and Shuaib.
Contrary to Johari’s previous narrative of what happened on the day he viewed the video, the PKR MP is seen in this clip as being very friendly with the three men, laughing and joking with them several times during the sex video screening.
Johari is a nephew of Shuaib, the former Perkasa treasurer.
Titled “Johari Abdul admits the sex video actor is Anwar Ibrahim” (Johari Abdul akui bahawa pelaku dalam video seks ialah Anwar Ibrahim), the video highlights and replays a comment made by the PKR leader when watching the video.
“It is not because of Anwar, but it’s because of the scene,” said Johari in the recording, who is seen laughing heartily with Shazryl, Rahim and Shuaib. The context of his remark is unclear as several parts of the clip appear to have been edited.
Shazryl is seen standing next to Johari in the video, and at one point shows the Sungai Petani MP a watch which Shazryl tells him is the “Omega watch” belonging to Anwar.
Several parts of the video however were indecipherable.
“Datuk Johari is welcome to sue Tan Sri Rahim, Datuk Eskay and Datuk Shuaib if the recording is not real or original... be reminded that while watching the sex video Datuk Johari Abdul has admitted that the actor is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” said the blog posting.
The posting also allegedly quoted Shazryl and Rahim as saying that Johari had demanded RM100,000 in “advanced payment”, and that they had paid the PKR man half the amount.
Rahim was allegedly quoted as saying that the trio had eventually declined Johari’s offer to bring five more PKR MPs (Datuk Kamarul Baharin Abbas, Rashid Din, Azan Ismail, Amran Ab Ghani, Abdullah Sani) to view the sex video and be paid RM1 million each to quit the party
“When this (request) occurred, we decided to reject (Johari’s offer),” said Rahim in the blog post.
A magistrate’s court in Kuala Lumpur was told last week that US authorities had identified the man in the controversial sex video screened by “Datuk T” as Anwar.
The “Datuk” T trio were fined RM5,500 after pleading guilty to their involvement in the screening of the video on March 21.
