A trader attempted in vain today to get to the office of the Penang chief minister at Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Komtar) to hand over a pair of panties and a bra, saying that it was his gift to a government which he claimed was unfair to the people.
Mohamed Ghani Abd Jiman Ghani, 42, who is chairman of Pertubuhan Suara Anak-anak Malaysia, had also brought along another set of the underwear to be handed over to Ng Wei Aik, political secretary to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
However, he only managed to get as far as the lift door where he was stopped by security guards.
He then hung up the underwear, in the pattern of tiger stripes, at the main entrance to the state government offices.
Mohamed Ghani claimed that the state government was not fair and not transparent and had not returned his trading site on the third floor of Komtar after it was seized when he refused to move to facilitate renovation work at the complex in March.
He claimed that the confiscation of his trading site had caused him RM50,000 in losses.
