PKR-linked group Jingga 13 has urged the police to investigate alleged attempts by a businessman to smuggle in RM40 million said to be meant for Sabah Umno.
The police report also demanded investigations against Sabah Chief Minister and state Umno chief Musa Aman.
“We think that Najib has colluded with Musa, (businessman) Michael Chia and Umno Sabah (in a matter) involving large sums of illicit funds,” Fariz said at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
“We hope police will initiate a detailed investigation through its commercial crimes department without prejudice or favouritism, in order to prosecute those concerned.”
Fariz also expressed dissatisfaction with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation which had cleared Musa of any wrongdoing, saying this was a cover-up.
However, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) did not charge him.
Whistle blower website Sarawak Report has claimed that the authorities could not proceed because the MACC had allegedlyrefused to cooperate.
When the matter was raised in Parliament last week, de facto law minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz had said that the sum was a political contribution to Sabah Umno and not for Musa's personal use.
