Remember shoe-throwing imam Hoslan? Well, he's doing fine now...
PAS Youth has managed to collect some RM100,000 in donation collected through months of hard work by its welfare committee, to help in relief works for the Rohingya community affected by recent anti-Muslim violence in Myanmar.
Yesterday at the PAS headquarters, Rohingya Ulama Council president Jaber Mohd Subahan received the cheque for the amount in a ceremony also attended by Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan.
During Ramadan, the wing made its first donation of RM10,000 to Rohingya refugees.
On the same day, Nasrudin and other Youth leaders visited Hoslan Husin, the former Imam who was released last week after serving a six month sentence for throwing his sandals at three Federal Court judges in February.
Nasrudin was accompanied by chairman of PAS's Law and Human Rights department Zamri As’ad Khuzaimi.
Upon their arrival, Hoslan  gave an emotional welcome to Nasrudin, who also passed on a special donation by PAS Youth.
During the visit, Hoslan related his experience in jail, and recalled how he had led prayers with inmates and spend time teaching Islam to them.
Hoslan's conditional release requires him to report once a week at the Bandar Tun Razak parole office.
