WORST ELECTORAL RESULT, yet MCA can get 2 minister + 2 deputy posts

WORST ELECTORAL RESULT, yet MCA can get 2 minister + 2 deputy posts
PETALING JAYA- MCA will be allocated at least two minister and two deputy minister posts in a Cabinet reshuffle expected to be held in the next two months.
According to a report in Sin Chew Daily today, MCA's wish to be given three minister and three deputy minister posts is unlikely to be met but there is a good possibility that it would be allocated the second education minister portfolio.
It is speculated that several ministers would either be removed or opt out of the Cabinet, including Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom and Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hassan Malek, the report said.
Although there is talk that Idris, a second-term senator, will leave because his senatorship is due to expire next year, sources close to him said he may opt out as he is not happy with the way the "Allah" issue was handled.
As for Hassan and Jamil, sources told the daily they are underperforming, particularly Hassan, who failed to placate the people unhappy with the rise in prices of goods following the government's move to cut subsidies.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak reserved the transport minister post for MCA in his new Cabinet after the 13th general election last year.
It will go a long way to boost the party's morale if it is given another key portfolio in the Cabinet, like the second education minister's post. The post is currently held by Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh. -Sundaily
