Local actor Mohamed Hadi Putera Halim has only praises for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s future son-in-law, Daniyar Kesikbayev.
Mohamed Hadi - better known as Adi Putra - said he had met the Kazakh when the two visited an old folks home in Puchong on Thursday.
The actor, who said he was “shocked” over the meeting, had then uploaded a picture of him and Daniyar on Instagram.
“I can’t believe that I managed to meet Daniyar Kesikbayev, the future son-in-law of our prime minister.
“He is humble and seemed very concerned of the plight of the people.
“I pray that everything will go accordingly during his upcoming wedding and that it will be blessed by Allah,” Adi said, as seen in the picture’s caption.
Wedding news in grapevine
When asked whether the meeting was planned or otherwise, Adi said that it was not pre-planned.
“I just met him (it wasn’t planned),” he told Malaysiakini.
The picture shows Daniyar - in a white shirt - with Adi, as well as the owner of the old folks home.
Speculation about Daniyar’s wedding with Najib’s daughter Nooryana Najwa intensified, after photographs of their purported wedding invitation were circulated online.
The wedding invitation comes in a gold and white box, which includes a scroll and a card for those invited to confirm their attendance.
The card stated that the wedding will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on March 28 at 8pm.
Nooryana and Daniyar reportedly met in the United States, where the couple had pursued their tertiary education.
In 2012, Daniyar became embroiled in controversy amid a legal tussle with his stepfather Bolat Nazarbayev.
Bolat, in a suit against Daniyar and Maira at the Manhattan Supreme Court, had accused his ex-wife and stepson of cheating him of a US$20 million New York apartment and spending US$75 million of his money on jewellery.
He also accused Maira of being wanted by Interpol for kidnapping and extortion. - M'kini
