MACC said in a statement that the allegations in blogs were totally false and baseless, and that the commission was doing its job without siding anyone.
"The actions taken by MACC senior officers are clearly to carry out their duties as officers of the commission.
"They also carry out their duties under the instructions and knowledge of the commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed," the statement read.
MACC also reiterated that its job is to investigate cases related to corruption and not to overthrow any government.
As an independent commission, MACC said it conducts probes freely, transparently and without fear or favour, regardless who the persons involved are.
"MACC will not let any party influence and interfere with its investigations," he said.
The commission had been subjected to rumours spread by blogs about its ongoing probes into matters related to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
Abu Kassim is also a member of a special task force that is looking into allegations by the Wall Street Journal that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak received RM2.6 billion from 1MDB linked
