Najib broke no rules, Shabery Cheek says

Minister says the RM2.6 billion and SRC International were "clear-cut" cases and that the Attorney-General had removed all doubts associated with it.

KUALA LUMPUR: What matters is that laws were not broken, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Shabery Cheek said today when commenting on the alleged corruption involving Prime Minister Najib Razak in regard to a RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million from SRC International.
“It is a clear-cut case and the Attorney-General (AG) has confirmed it. It should clear all doubts.
“We have to believe that everything was done according to the rules just like the AG says,” the minister told reporters.
When asked about the doubts the people still harboured in regard to both cases, Shabery said there was nothing left to do but accept the outcome.
“We have to accept that no one broke the law. When you talk about logic, it’s not logical. But no one broke any rules and we have to accept that,” he said.
Earlier today, Attorney-General Apandi Ali cleared Najib of any wrongdoing pertaining to the RM2.6 billion “donation” the PM received in his personal bank accounts in 2013 and the RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd.
In a press conference, Apandi announced that he had thoroughly studied the papers submitted to him by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), and having found no laws broken, had ordered both cases closed.
