A defiant Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he will only answer the truth when he is charged in court on his allegation that the public prosecutor is protecting Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
This is what the former prime minister said after he was questioned by the police today over his blog posting on attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali.
“I did not answer the relevant questions on the article as I wish to answer in court during the hearing or trial (after I am charged),” Mahathir said.
He said he is prepared to be jailed for his posting.
“If you stick out your neck, you will be chopped. If that is going to be the end of my life - in jail, okay, that's it,” he said.
When asked whether he foresees ending up in Sungai Buloh prison together with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, Mahathir replied in jest: “Maybe we can share the same cell.”
