YOURSAY | ‘Whatever their motivations, M’sia needs leaders to do what is right for a change.’
Freethinker: It's not impossible if former attorney-general (AG) Abdul Gani Patail had met with then deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, as everyone knows how the AG works and who he gets his orders from.
Muhyiddin was still in line with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, and there was no open war between them at the time.
It is the quantum of the offence and the alleged offender which could affect the control of Umno in the country, so it's natural that the AG would go to Muhyiddin for advice.
If the prosecution were to bring the PM to court, Umno would not be ruling today as Najib would surely bring everyone along as well. The PM is just too huge to fail.
People see this, so the only logical thing for the ex-DPM to do was to talk to Najib privately and request that he step down.
After the latter refused to do so, Muhyiddin then decided to go public on this.
All the dots are connected if you look at them from the right angle.
Apa nama: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said, I am disappointed that you do not know how to spin this issue properly.
If you don’t know how to spin, just ask for some advice and guidance from other spin masters like Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan, or even your boss’ wife, Rosmah Mansor.
You had better take up tuition with these people before graduating with a degree in ‘Spin Doctoring’ from the University of Umno Baru. So, make sure you improve the next time you open your mouth.
Aquinas Says: Please stop your charade to divert attention from the real issue. Your boss is currently involved in the biggest corruption scandal in Malaysian history.
How many things has he done in secret that are now coming back to haunt our nation? And you have the gall to threaten those who are choosing to expose them?
Whatever their motivations, this country needs leaders to stand up and do what is right for a change.
You, on the other hand, have chosen to go to the other side.
Res Ipsa: Quite frankly, do we really care at all about a purported coup within an organisation that is already rotten to the core?
You can go on barking, Azalina, but rest assured that the empire that you are part of has been shaken to the roots.
It's just a matter of time before it is going to come tumbling down like Humpty Dumpty... and no one – including ‘Frankenjib’ – will be able to ever put them together again.
Go back to your basics if you can’t remember your nursery rhymes.
FellowMalaysian: So in the eyes of Azalina, Muhyiddin and Gani are guilty of complicity, abetment, conspiracy and staging a coup to usurp a democratically elected prime minister.
If so, then as a lawyer yourself, the whole country would like to see you initiating a legal suit against these two.
Anonymous_1421806811: It is really shameful to read Azalina's comments about Muhyiddin's complicity in a “coup” to topple Najib. Is she desperately trying to address the message to Najib's loyalists?
The former AG allegedly had evidence to indict her boss for corruption. He then brought it to Muhyiddin, who was the DPM at the time. Was that wrong?
If she is not out to fool anyone, then she has no choice but to get current AG Mohamed Apandi Ali to charge Muhyiddin in court with treason. Then we shall all have a field day!
Hopeful123: Azalina, are you suggesting that Gani should have straightaway charged Najib without at least consulting the then DPM? But then again, Gani was unceremoniously removed from office anyway.
I like the way you talk as if you had served the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Britain’s Scotland Yard and the Mossad in Israel for many years. Do carry on with your jokes.
After all, we are all so down with what is happening to our country and economy that we need people like you to keep us entertained.
Melayu: Aren’t you from Pengerang, Johor? Let's just see what happens to you in the next general election then. -Mkini
