Police today questioned Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng after he led children to sing a song against the GST.
Lim, accompanied by lawyer RSN Rayer, was questioned at his office in Komtar this afternoon.
After the questioning, Lim addressed journalists waiting at his office, during which he thanked the police.
"I would like to thank the police as they are only doing their jobs. In the end, the final decision lies in the hands of the BN government.
"If the anti-GST song is an issue, (if) people have to face action for wanting to object the GST through song, then it is up to the people to decide if this is what they want," he said.
His comments were also carried live on his official Facebook page.
Lim had sung the song at a flat on March 17, joined by children, where state-sponsored free tuition was provided.
However, Lim said he was in a residential area and not at a school, and accused BN of double standards.
He pointed out that Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor had in October last year officiated a school event where the Umno flags were put up, and the party theme was sung. -Mkini
