Azmin clueless about becoming DPM during Hari Raya celebrations

Speculation has been rife for months that it would be PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, and not his boss Anwar Ibrahim, who would succeed Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The latest claim is that Azmin would be appointed as deputy prime minister during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations in early June.
The post is currently held by Anwar's wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
However, Azmin, who is also economic affairs minister, claimed to be in the dark about this matter.
"I don't know (about this),” he told reporters when met at the Parliament lobby this afternoon.
On the same note, Azmin stressed that the focus should be on fulfilling the promises made to the people and not regarding positions.
“There are so many things that need to be done and we were given the mandate by the rakyat to deliver, and improve the delivery system.
"We have been on the ground engaging and consulting stakeholders and the rakyat. InsyaAllah (God willing) we will do our best to honour our promises to the rakyat. That should be the focus.
“This matter (of him becoming DPM) should not arise at all,” he added.
Mahathir has agreed to pass over the leadership reins to Anwar in two years, but certain quarters have claimed that there are attempts to derail this transition.
