PUTRAJAYA: The approval for the new Chief Justice by the Conference of Rulers is expected before the end of this week, says the Prime Minister.
"I think it (the approval) should come before the end of this week," said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after a session with civil servants on Tuesday (April 30).
Former Chief Justice Tan Sri Richard Malanjum retired on April 13 after serving in the judiciary for 27 years, leaving the post vacant.
Malanjum, the first Sabahan to hold the top post in the judiciary, served as the Chief Justice for nine months.- Star
