PUTRAJAYA : Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has shared four success-worthy values with civil servants, saying that they need to embrace these traits to succeed.
The Prime Minister said that success comes to those who are hardworking, disciplined, responsible and honest.
"These are the values that we have to have if we want to be successful, not just at work but also in life," Dr Mahathir said at the Prime Minister’s Department's monthly assembly on Tuesday (April 2).
He said there were different traits practised by successful people as opposed to those who were not.
"If you observe closely, people who are successful adopt different attitude compared to those who are not.
"For sure, those who make it in life are the hardworking and honest ones, " he said.
Dr Mahathir said civil servants must strive for the country's success not only for the betterment of the people but also to gain global respect.
At the assembly, the song "Malaysia Bersih" was played in line with the government's decision to make the song part of every government official function.
Last month, the special Cabinet committee on anti-corruption chaired by Dr Mahathir had decided for the song to be aired alongside Negaraku at official functions.
The song is aimed at promoting positive traits and good values, including rejecting corruption among Malaysians.- Star
