SHAH ALAM: Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) is currently identifying the cause of the burst pipe in Setia Alam, says National Water Services Commission (SPAN) chairman Charles Santiago.
The Klang MP said that 155,000 accounts across 84 areas in Klang and nine in Kuala Langat will be affected by an unscheduled water supply disruption.
“With many away for the Raya holidays, the water tanks should be sufficient. Users are still their getting water supply at the moment.
“The alert system was triggered when the 1800mm main pipe burst this morning,” he said during a site visit on Monday (June 3).
Air Selangor Customer Relationship and Communication Department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said the valve was closed at the main distribution system to ascertain the cause.
Three excavators were seen at the site and are currently digging into the area where the pipe is located.
In a statement, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said four local service centres have been set up since 3pm.
Additionally, 68 small water tankers will be deployed to Klang and five to Kuala Langat.
