Bung Moktar faces 4 contenders in Lamag

Sabah BN chief Bung Moktar Radin is involved in five-cornered fight for the Lamag seat.
KINABATANGAN: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Bung Moktar Radin is vying for the newly-created seat of Lamag with four others.
The nominations were held at the Sri Lamag Hall in Kinabatangan and Bung was backed by a crowd of supporters.
Bung is going up against Warisan’s Ismail Ayob, Parti Cinta Sabah’s Razman Mayah, Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah’s Mohd Al Ruzainie @ Shirin Abdul Rahman and independent Junny @ Karuak Abdullah.
It had earlier been speculated that Bung was in the running for the chief minister’s post if the BN-PN coalition wins in the state polls.
Meanwhile, for Kuamat, its incumbent, Masiung Banah, who before this contested under the BN ticket, will now be contesting as an Independent.
Masiung will be up against four other candidates — Juhari Janan from BN, Mohd Meszi Ng Abdullah from Parti Cinta Sabah, Bensom Inggam from Upko, and Atiung Titoh from Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah.
Meanwhile, the incumbent for the Sukau state seat, Saddi Abdul Rahman, will also be contesting as an independent. He had previously contested the seat as a BN candidate.
Other candidates contesting the Sukau state seat are Jafry Arifin of BN, Amrah Liwangsa of Warisan, Malaya Kasurah of Parti Cinta Sabah and Jakariah Janit of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah. - FMT
