Musa Aman calls on Shafie to stop attacking him during campaign

Malaysiakini

SABAH POLLS | Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman has called on Warisan president Shafie Apdal to stop attacking him in the campaign as he's not a contender in the snap election.
"We see many videos and billboards showing Shafie's face with slogans such as 'building the country', 'unity', but his speeches during the campaign were filled with attacks against me.
"I understand his need to deliver a political fiery speech during the campaign, but it's a shame for a state leader to repeatedly spread lies and it should not come from an individual whose ambition is to become the prime minister," he said in a statement as reported by Sinar Harian.
The former Sungai Sibuga assemblyperson said that prior to this, he had filed an RM1 billion summon against the Sabah foundation and Shafie for slanders.
Musa strongly denied the accusations that he had approved Yayasan Sabah contracts to several individuals.
"I was called to issue this statement to explain and clear my name from his (Shafie) accusations.
"Recently, he made numerous slanderous statements, including accusing me of approving Yayasan Sabah contracts to several individuals.
"Therefore, I strongly deny this accusation. The slander is an attempt to tarnish my reputation and fulfil (Shafie) bad agenda.
“His agenda should have involved the improvement of infrastructure, economy, job and business opportunities,” he said.
On Sept 14, Shafie claimed that some 700,000 acres of forest reserve were given to "friends and family" under the administration of the previous state leader. - Mkini
