BN leaders were unperturbed by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's claim to commanding a Parliamentary majority and that Muhyiddin Yassin's government had "fallen".
In a tweet, Science and Technology Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the Perikatan Nasional government had just concluded their weekly cabinet meeting and that all was fine.
"Just finished the cabinet meeting. Nothing collapsed or fell," he quipped.
Likewise, Human Resources Minister M Saravanan said there was no cause for panic.
"Nothing to worry (about), I'm at the cabinet meeting and busy planning for the rakyat with PM," he said in a Facebook post.
Muhyiddin is scheduled to make a televised address at 2.30pm today, and the prime minister will likely announce some economic measures related to the Covid-19 recovery efforts.
Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa, meanwhile, responded with a series of bemused emojis.
He also tweeted that maybe someone had "caught a new virus".
When contacted, Padang Rengas MP Nazri Abdul Aziz - who is currently in Sabah - said he was in the dark over the current developments.
"I don't know... I last saw Anwar during the Parliament session (in August), haven't seen him since," he told Malaysiakini.
Nazri also dismissed the possibility of individual Umno MPs defecting to join Anwar, saying he would have known about such things.
Anwar has declined to reveal whose defections he had secured, indicating that individual MPs would be crossing over.
He said he would only reveal this after he had met the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. - Mkini
