One passenger suffered light injuries when two KTM trains scraped past one another near the Kuang train station in Selangor today.
KTM Berhad said the 6.37pm incident involved an ETS train that was travelling from Padang Besar to KL Sentral station, and a KTM Komuter train that was travelling from Tanjung Malim station to Sungai Buloh.
The ETS train was carrying 93 passengers at the time, while the three-coach KTM Komuter train was carrying 30 passengers. The injured passenger was aboard the Komuter train.
In a statement, KTM Berhad CEO Kamarulzaman Zainal said the passenger had suffered light arm injuries and was given first aid by KTM staff at Kuang station before continuing the journey to Sungai Buloh.
ETS train passengers were transferred aboard the next available ETS train to continue on to their respective destinations.
However, he said some delays to other train services are expected although repairs are already underway.
“One track between Sungai Buloh station and Rawang station is unobstructed and can still be used by other train services. We expect some delays for those train services.”
He added that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident and the Land Public Transport Agency has been notified of the incident. - Mkini
