PBS co-deputy president Dr Yee Moh Chai has lodged a police report over a doctored image depicting him as wearing a sarban (Islamic turban) and supporting hudud law.
The Api-Api candidate believes the image is seditious and that the perpetrators intended to play up racial and religious sentiments.
"We worry this manipulated image by irresponsible parties gives the impression that PBS' Api-Api candidate is purposely insulting the beliefs of other faiths.
"PBS does not play up religious or racial sentiments to get supporters," he said in a statement.
There are nine candidates for the Api-Api seat whose incumbent is PKR's Christina Liew.
Yee is also facing LDP and PCS candidates for the seat. - Mkini
