Sepanggar MP Azis Jamman said the two deputy ministers who criticised a student for highlighting Sabah's rural internet connectivity problems should be praising her instead.
Azis (photo, above) said that Veveonah Mosibin's effort to produce a video of the perils of taking an online university exam while perched on a tree should be an eye-opener for policymakers.
"Instead, the two deputy ministers chose to bully Veveonah and assassinate the character of a young girl who is trying to make lives better.
"It is no surprise that after 26 years of BN rule, Sabah is still left behind because its leaders are in denial and do not accept their failures.
"Instead, they blame the people who are trying to raise issues," he said.
The controversy over Veveonah's video surfaced after Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin accused her of lying about her exam schedule, only to apologise later but not before passing the buck to Deputy Finance Minister I Abdul Rahim Bakri for the wrong information.

Zahidi also blamed DAP for politicising the matter.
As for Abdul Rahim, he reaffirmed in a post on his Facebook page that Veveonah was lying. After receiving a lot of brickbats from internet users, Abdul Rahim deleted that Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Sabah-based senator Adrian Lasimbang held a press conference today and urged the two deputy ministers and the federal government not to sweep the matter under the carpet.
He said poor internet coverage was a huge problem in Sabah and one that Pakatan Harapan had tried to tackle through the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP).
"I fully support Veveonah because this is a mere reflection of a larger problem.
"There are many more 'Veveonahs' in Sabah," said Adrian. - Mkini
