JOHOR BARU: Two teenagers drowned after they are believed to have slipped and fallen into the Segamat River near here, yesterday.
The remains of Tey Shan Shui, 13, and Tan Kah Chun, 15, were found at 5.20pm.
Segamat district police chief Superintendent Raub Selamat said the two were students of Seg Hwa National Secondary School in Tahang Rimau, Segamat.
"According to friends of the victims, the duo was playing games on mobile phones when they slipped and fell into the river.
"In this regard, this case is classified as sudden death because no criminal element was detected," he said when contacted last night.
Bandar Baru Segamat Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer (PBK) II Syed Putra Syed Mohd Al-Atas said the boys' remains were discovered following a search. - BERNAMA
