MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) volunteers busy helping providing disaster relief during recent operations.
PETALING JAYA: MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) is targeting RM50,000 in funds raised to help disaster relief work, particularly for flood victims.
CRSM said that it was working in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) to provide relief assistance to those affected by disasters.
"CRSM actively took part in disaster relief work and dispatched over 100 volunteers to distribute food supplies and anti-pandemic necessities.
"This included helping victims move their belongings as well as post-flood cleaning and rebuilding," CRSM said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 7).
They also advised those affected by the flood to avoid consuming food damaged by floods or attempting to cross flooded paths.
"Even after floods recede, volunteers and locals must wear protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection during clean-up work," CRSM added.
CRSM also urged members of the public to follow instructions issued by authorities such as evacuation orders to flood relief centres and obeying Covid-19 SOPs.
It added that affected evacuees are also advised to take care of their personal hygiene, especially when preparing for meals and during cleaning up.
