MOH now reports specific locales for new clusters

The Health Ministry (MOH) has changed its daily Covid-19 reporting methods for new clusters by including specific locations.

The changes began on Monday.

Previously, the MOH would only report districts affected by clusters.

Other details include how the index case was found or whether it involved deliberate testing of a specific location, workplace or community.

However, only the Selangor Health Department has consistently published the most detailed information regarding the origins of new cases.

These reports are published on the department's Facebook page soon after the Health Ministry completes its daily report.

Apart from cases detected from clusters, targeted workers and close contacts, the Selangor Health Department includes information such as positive cases from tests conducted pre-treatment, post-mortem, pre-new employment and pre-departure, among others.

The department also publishes crucial data on how many positive cases come from those with symptoms, including severe acute respiratory illness and influenza-like illness.

Covid-19 positive individuals are more likely to spread the virus than those without symptoms. - Mkini
