COVID-19 | Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin was among the top Bersatu leaders who were in a meeting with Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mustapa Mohamed whose office today confirmed he had been infected with Covid-19.
Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan confirmed Mustapa had attended a Bersatu supreme council meeting on Jan 6.
Bernama reported that Muhyiddin had chaired the meeting at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya.
Wan Saiful said the meeting was conducted in accordance with the Health Ministry's standard operating procedures (SOP).
However, he said the Bersatu leaders have been told to get tested for the virus as a precaution.
"As a precaution, all Bersatu supreme council members and others present at the meeting have been instructed to get tested for Covid-19 and to also take the necessary measures in accordance with the Health Ministry's SOP," Wan Saiful said in a statement.
Mustapa's office today confirmed his Covid-19 results returned positive on the night of Jan 9 after he took a test upon arriving in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
However, his office said a separate test on Jan 1 was negative.
According to Mustafa's Facebook, he also met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 8.
Prior to that, the Jeli MP also visited flood victims at various locations in his constituency.
