KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Multimedia Ministry (MCMC) has denied the involvement of its Community Communications Department (J-Kom) in the publication of a poster bearing a photo of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
In a statement, MCMC said it had nothing to do with the poster which was uploaded on a Twitter account 'Tangga Putra Perdana' on Tuesday.
"The tweet carried a poster said to be 'published by the Community Communications Department (J-Kom)' with the coat of arms bearing the name of MCMC.
"To date, J-Kom does not have any official social media account as it will only take effect from Feb 1 this year.
"The use of the coat of arms on the name of ministries and departments by other parties without permission is unethical and irresponsible, that could lead to public confusion," it said.
The MCMC urged the public to refer to its official website at www.kkmm.gov.my and its official social media account for verified information on J-Kom. - NST
