Several Warisan leaders have denied claims from a viral social media post that the party had joined the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking (above) told Malaysiakini in a text message that the viral social media post is "not true at all".
Meanwhile, the party's secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr also said the claim was "slander" (fitnah).
"Warisan has honour. Warisan has principles," Loretto said to Malaysiakini when contacted today.
Earlier, Warisan Youth chief Mohd Azis Jamman had also denied the claims on his Facebook.
"This has gone viral and a lot of people ask us about this. I would like to clarify that this is totally slander (fitnah).
"Warisan did not join PN as stated in this posting," Mohd Azis said on his Facebook.
The social media post which went viral came from Umno blogger Zaharin Mohd Yasin's Facebook account today.
"Latest news. Warisan has joined PN. The PN government did not fall," the posting read.
Previously, Umno's Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub announced he was withdrawing his support from the PN government on Jan 9.
This means the PN government was left with the support of 110 MPs out of the 220 lawmakers in the Dewan Rakyat.
However, though there are 110 MPs opposed to PN, the opposition is currently divided.
The main opposition bloc Pakatan Harapan has only 91 MPs as there are 17 other non-Umno lawmakers who are not aligned with them. - Mkini
