Wanita Umno vice chief Norliza Abdul Rahim has been appointed as UDA Holdings Bhd (Uda) chairperson effective Nov 8.
She will replace Jalaluddin Alias who relinquished the position in August after being appointed as Federal Territories deputy minister, according to UDA.
In a statement today, Uda Group president and chief executive officer Mohd Salem Kailany welcomed her appointment as chairperson to spearhead the company's leadership.
"Hopefully, her leadership will be an aspiration for Uda to continue its glory for the next 50 years," he said.
"I will continue the legacy of Uda together with the company leadership. I would like to thank Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob for recognising women's contribution," Norliza (above) said on her appointment.
Norliza holds a Master’s degree in business administration (accounting) and Bachelor's degree in advanced financial planning as well as trade and management (accounting) .
She has over 30 years of experience in property development, property management and housing policy in the government and private sector.
Norliza was a senator between 2011 and 2017.
She is also Umno supreme council member and Penang Umno Wanita chief.
She supervised the implementation of 25,000 units of public housing when she was with the housing division of Penang government. - Mkini
