PETALING JAYA: PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan thanked Amanah for confirming that his party has zero ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH), and said PAS would reject any political pact with opposition parties under the “big tent” approach for the general election.
Takiyuddin said PAS had been consistent in supporting the current coalition government of Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Parti Bersatu Sabah, and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR)
“PAS is very confident that the ummah unity approach via the Malay-Muslim centered collaboration between major parties in the country is the most effective formula, and will be accepted by a majority of Malaysians,” he added.
His statement came after remarks by Amanah president Mohamad Sabu today that his party was against the idea of PH working with Bersatu and PAS for the general election.
Earlier today, DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng had also said his party would not work with Bersatu and PAS as they did not trust the leaders of the two parties. - FMT
