A landslide occurred near the entrance of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) campus in Kuala Lumpur and it took out a guardhouse in the process.
No injuries or casualties were reported from the incident at Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, near Bukit Tunku, this afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department said it was alerted of the incident at close to 2pm and its team arrived on the scene shortly after.
There were 76 people at the academy at the time of the incident, all of whom have been evacuated.
The MACC later clarified that a total of 45 people were safely evacuated after the landslide which occurred at around 1pm today.
Among those evacuated included 22 officers, seven family members of the officers, and 16 cleaners, said the MACC in a statement.
The Fire and Rescue Department believes the incident was caused by a burst water pipe and soil movement was still occurring when their personnel arrived
Kuala Lumpur City Hall, the Public Works Department and Syabas have been alerted for further action.
MACA serves as a training centre for the MACC.
Meanwhile, the MACC urged the public to not speculate and give space to the authorities to carry out further investigations in identifying the cause of the landslide. - Mkini
