SEREMBAN: A 52-year-old man has admitted to having accidentally shot his friend while hunting in a forest near Jelebu on Monday. The friend died at the scene, police said.
Jelebu district police chief Maslan Udin said that the hunter had turned himself in at Titi police station at 8.30pm, saying that his 61-year-old friend had been accidentally shot.
He said the two men had entered the forest area with home-made shotguns early on Monday morning. “While hunting, the suspect mistook the victim for a deer and fired at him. The victim died at the scene,” Maslan said in a statement today.
He said the hunter had been arrested and placed in remand until April 30. A shotgun, believed to be home-made, and several live bullets and bullet casings were seized.- FMT
