PETALING JAYA: Two brothers in Sabah have been sentenced to seven days in jail after they assaulted a policeman who attempted to break up a fight between them.
According to Daily Express, the incident started when Valley Saitim, 37, got into an argument with his wife outside a restaurant after a drinking session.
His brother, Boby, 30, who had been drinking with him, tried to diffuse the situation, only for his efforts to turn into a brawl with Valley.
The police were called in to break up the fight and officer Farhan Hame Azizon was the first to arrive at the scene.
However, in his attempt to break the fight, the brothers turned on Farhan and assaulted him.
The duo were later arrested and charged in the Kota Kinabalu magistrates’ court under Section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty.
They pleaded guilty and were sentenced to jail. - FMT
