A former Perlis menteri besar is expected to be charged in court for corruption tomorrow.
This is according to an MACC notice to the press sent out this evening.
Details of the impending charges are scarce but several Malay media have reported that it might be Azlan Man who will be charged.
Berita Harian reported that the charges are expected to be over falsified documents.
Azlan was the Perlis Menteri Besar from 2013 to 2022.
In 2018, then Perlis Umno chief Shahidan Kassim tried to install his brother Ismail as menteri besar.
However, Azlan was chosen by the state ruler to continue as menteri besar, prompting nine BN assemblypersons to boycott the swearing-in ceremony.
However, the situation quickly resolved itself.
In last year's general election, Azlan lost his Bintong state seat to Perikatan Nasional.
He also failed to defend his post as Umno's Kangar division chief last month, losing out to Fathul Bari Mat Jahya. - Mkini
