Probe papers on Hadi will be submitted to AGC, says Saifuddin

SHAH ALAM: Investigation papers on Abdul Hadi Awang’s claim that non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras were at the root of corruption will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC), says home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

“There have been a number of police reports made and we have opened investigation papers.

“Let that process take place first. Then, as usual, we will hand it over to the AGC,” he told reporters after a town hall organised by Sinar Harian.

On Aug 20, Hadi wrote a Facebook post that put the focus on non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras as being the majority involved in corruption.

The PAS president said corruption stemmed from those who reaped profit through illegal means, adding that the majority of those involved in ruining the country’s politics and economy were “in fact” non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras.

This led to at least 28 police reports being lodged against Hadi and Bukit Aman summoning the Marang MP to give his statement.

The police investigation is under a Penal Code provision on statements conducive to public mischief and incitement, and for abuse of network services under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. - FMT
