SHAH ALAM: The Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) is organising a free voluntary vehicle inspection for all private vehicle owners.
This will begin tomorrow and will last until April 20.
It is aimed at ensuring vehicles are in good condition ahead of the “balik kampung” rush for Aidilfitri.
Puspakom CEO Shukor Ismail said vehicle owners can just walk in to any Puspakom branch nationwide (except for its Shah Alam, Taman Bukit Maluri and Pasir Gudang branches) from 8am till 5pm.
He said its mobile inspection unit was also offering free inspections at several selected locations listed on Puspakom’s website at www.puspakom.com.my or Puspakom Sdn Bhd’s Facebook page.
The voluntary vehicle inspection will focus on safety aspects with regards to brakes, side slips, tyres, suspension, emission, lights, bottom and top of the vehicle, as well as tinted windscreens.
“The free inspection drive is aimed at getting vehicle owners to be more aware of the condition of their vehicles.
“We use computerised equipment to check vehicles. Owners can then use this information to send their vehicles for repairs,” he said in a statement today. - FMT
