Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail today announced a special Aidilfitri assistance of RM1,200 to all 8,000 state civil servants.
Besides the civil servants, he said, the state government also agreed to provide financial assistance to four categories of recipients involving RM500 and RM200 each.
The RM500 assistance will be given to Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) chairpersons, deputy chairpersons of the Settlement Development and Security Committee, Orang Asli Village Development and Security Committee chairpersons and the tok batin (chieftains), while RM200 will be distributed to JPKK secretaries, involving 2,773 individuals, Wan Rosdy (above) said.
He said RM200 in financial assistance will also be given to 700 orphans who are registered with the Welfare Department, state government pensioners (4,500 recipients) and single mothers (7,000 recipients).
“This special assistance involves financial implications of RM12.95 million for 22,973 recipients," he said in a statement today.
Wan Rosdy said he hoped the assistance would help ease the burden of the recipients in preparing for Aidilfitri which is expected to be celebrated on April 22.
