JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor Islamic religious department (JAINJ) has given an assurance that the alleged “sex party” planned in Johor Bahru will not happen anywhere in the state.
State Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Fared Khalid said the department would work closely with the police to ensure that such immoral activities do not take place.
Although the Twitter account that promoted the immoral activities has been closed, he said it would continue to monitor social media sites that have been identified as being involved in the matter.
“So far, no other ‘sex party’ announcement has been reported. Regardless of what the organisers plan, we will make sure it will not happen, that is our commitment,” he told a press conference here.
Fared urged all parties to channel any information on such immoral activities to the police or JAINJ.
“We have to prevent it together. Allow the police to do their work and investigate such plans. The public can be the eyes and ears of the state authorities and also the police. Just report and do not conspire.
“Your (the organiser) identity has already been known. You can try to hide but we know who you are. You are being watched,” he said, before thanking the police for tracking down the individuals allegedly involved in organising the ‘sex party’.
An online poster on Twitter, inviting participants to a ‘sex party’ in the city, went viral recently. - FMT
