PAS MP: Why ex-Bersatu lawmakers still labelled under PN?

PARLIAMENT | Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (PN-Pasir Mas) questioned why a screen in the Dewan Rakyat still showed Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal as under Perikatan Nasional.

He asked speaker Johari Abdul this, considering Syed Hussin had ceased to be a Bersatu member.

“Bukit Gantang is written (on the screen) as PN. He is not PN anymore. I don’t know how he sits there,” he said.

Fadhli (above) said this just as Syed Abu Hussin stood up to ask a supplementary question during Question Time this morning.

Johari then asked for proof that a letter was written by PN to withdraw the Bukit Gantang MP’s status as one of the coalition’s lawmakers.

He previously ruled that Syed Hussin and five other Bersatu MPs would retain their seats and not have to move to the Independent bench.

Speaker Johari Abdul

“Is there black-and-white proof that PN has written to me? There needs to be black-and-white that PN has written to me to pull him (Syed Hussin) out (from the PN bench).

“Bersatu has (written a letter), but PN not yet. Because our records are all according to PN, not Bersatu or PAS.

“Please do that, the secretary-general is here,” said Johari, referring to opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin (PN-Larut), who is also the secretary-general of both Bersatu and PN.

Bersatu previously notified Johari in writing that six of its MPs who expressed support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had ceased to be party members.

The five others aside from Syed Abu Hussin are Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), and Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang).
