Man nabbed for allegedly kidnapping girl, 8, near Sg Buloh

A goreng pisang seller has been arrested for allegedly abducting an eight-year-old girl in Jeram, near Sungai Buloh, Selangor, police said.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar said the child was reported missing on July 19 at about 6.30pm at Taman Ikan Emas.

However, the girl and another child were returned to the nearby Taman Kelisa on the same day, Hussein said in a statement.

The suspect, a 32-year-old Malaysian, allegedly transported the children in a black Perodua Bezza, investigations found.

The suspect was arrested at 2.40am two days later at Jalan Pawang Jalil in Jeram, Hussein said.

He is expected to be charged tomorrow at the Sungai Besar Magistrates Court under Section 363 of the Penal Code, which deals with kidnapping.

If convicted, he faces up to seven years in jail and a fine.

The incident comes after six-year-old Albertine Teo Jia Hui was safely found at a budget hotel in Batang Kali, Selangor yesterday, after she went missing in Iskandar Puteri in Johor on July 20.

Police have arrested five suspects related to Teo's alleged kidnapping. - Mkini
