PETALING JAYA: Parti Gabungan Rakyat Sabah says its candidate will contest the Usukan seat in the upcoming state election.
Japlin Akim, the party’s division chief for Usukan, said the ruling GRS coalition is the most qualified to represent the people in the area.
“We will not compromise anymore and will ensure that the Usukan constituency is won by GRS in the coming state election. This is our stance,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying at a seminar yesterday.
He said GRS has made preparations in Usukan and will not retreat.
“They need to forge ahead and ensure that Usukan belongs to GRS,” he said, adding that only a representative from the party will be able to resolve the problems and fulfil the needs of the people.
Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Bung Moktar Radin had announced in November last year that former chief minister and incumbent assemblyman Salleh Said Keruak will defend the Usukan seat in the next state election, which must be held by Dec 6. - FMT
