
KUALA LUMPUR: Kota Setar in Kedah continues to experience Level 2 heatwave conditions, with daily maximum temperatures ranging from 37 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said early morning readings at 6am showed eight areas at Level One (Alert), with daily highs of 35 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius.
Affected areas include Perlis, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling in Kedah.
Similar conditions were recorded in Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; Kuala Krai, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah and Machang in Kelantan; Maran and Jerantut in Pahang; and Segamat in Johor.
The hot weather is expected to continue for at least three consecutive days.
