The prime minister condemns their detention as a clear violation of maritime law.

He condemned what he described as violent actions by Israeli forces against the mission in international waters, calling it a clear violation of maritime law and akin to piracy.
“Malaysia urges all parties to act immediately and ensure no harm comes to any of the activists, including the 10 Malaysians currently detained and out of contact.
“Their safety must be guaranteed without compromise,” he said in a Facebook post this evening.
Anwar, who is the principal patron of the Sumud Nusantara mission, also said in a separate post that he is in contact with Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general Sani Araby for the latest updates.
Earlier, SNCC confirmed that 22 vessels under the GSF 2.0 mission were intercepted and boarded by Israeli forces in international waters en route to Gaza, including six with 10 Malaysians on board.
Sani said those involved were Zainal Rashid Ahmad on board Arkham III; Osman Zolkifli and Jihan Alya Nordin (Eros 1); Hazwan Hazim Dermawan, Hanafi Salim, Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri Kamaruzaman and Norhelmi Ab Ghani (Bianca BCN).
Also involved were Redzal Amzah and Muhsin Zaidi, who were on board Freia and Marea, respectively, as well as Shamsir Isa (Esplai II).
Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his confidence that Malaysia’s strong diplomatic ties with friendly nations could help facilitate efforts to secure the release of the 10 Malaysians.
“Given the prime minister’s strong international ties, diplomatic efforts can be undertaken not only to facilitate their humanitarian mission, but also to ensure their release once it concludes,” he said. - FMT
