Over half of Budi95 quota used, K'tan man asks how others bought his allocated fuel

Another case involving the disappearance of subsidised petrol quota under the Budi95 scheme, suspected to have been used by another party, has been reported after a Kelantan entrepreneur discovered a sharp drop in his remaining balance.

Fadhli Noor, 39, said he was prompted to check his transaction records on the Budi Madani website and found that his Budi95 quota had only 78 litres remaining for this month (April).

Upon review, he found two transactions at a petrol station in Tumpat, Kelantan, on April 5, that he never made.

“During the date and time those transactions were made, I was in Kuantan. I have never filled petrol at that station.

“My identity card has also never been lost. So how could this misuse happen at a time when we are all supposed to safeguard the country’s fuel supply?” he said when contacted by Malaysiakini today.

Last week, Malaysiakini reported a similar case involving a woman from Sepang, Selangor.

As of today, there have been no further developments in the case, apart from Budi Madani administrators responding to complaints via email and stating that the matter would be investigated by the authorities.

‘How did it happen?’

Meanwhile, Fadhli said the two suspicious transactions amounted to 22 litres and 100 litres respectively.

“I usually buy petrol for my motorcycle, as most of my business operations use diesel-powered vehicles.

“I take this misuse by any individual seriously. This cannot be allowed to continue.

“I have lodged a report with the authorities today and hope those responsible will be brought to justice,” he said.

He also questioned how purchases under the Budi95 scheme could be made by others without using his identity card.

“I hope the authorities will investigate this case seriously, including reviewing CCTV footage at the petrol station.

“We are concerned this activity may be widespread and carried out by smuggling syndicates in collusion with certain parties who have access to the public’s personal data,” he added. - Mkini
