Aminuddin only ex-PH rep to fully return allocations, says MB

Former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun is the only former Pakatan Harapan (PH) state assemblyman who has returned in full the allocations he received, says Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Ismail Lasim.

He said several former PH assemblymen, including the coordinators for the Paroi and Labu state constituencies, had begun returning the allocations from June 30 but had yet to repay the full amount.

“They have been returning the allocations since June 30, but not in full. The amount I gave yesterday was an estimate of the allocations they received.

“Some have indeed returned the allocations, but not the full amount disbursed. Perhaps they have already used it for the people and other purposes, I do not know.

“Those who have not returned the full amount must provide an explanation and expenditure records,” he told reporters here.

Ismail said his office was reviewing records of the allocations given to each former PH assemblyman to determine the actual outstanding amount, as the sums disbursed differed from one constituency to another.

Ismail yesterday said 17 PH assemblymen and two constituency coordinators had been ordered to return allocations for July to September which were paid out a day before the state assembly was dissolved on June 5.

The 10 PH assemblymen and the coordinators for Labu and Paroi must return RM174,000 and RM150,000 respectively. He also said seven former PH assemblymen who were state executive councillors must return RM150,000 each.

However, he said the state executive councillors at the time, including Aminuddin, remained ex-officio members until July 31 and were therefore entitled to use the allocations for that month.

Earlier today, Nilai assemblyman J Arul Kumar said the assemblymen had already used the allocations for public welfare, with some spending their funds in full, Sinar Harian reported.

The Negeri Sembilan DAP chairman said all unspent funds had been returned to the menteri besar’s office before July 10, together with financial reports for each state constituency. - FMT
