Nepali police release names of 23 Malaysians missing in floods

 They are among 57 Malaysians who have been uncontactable since flash floods hit Nepal's Rasuwa district.

HYDERABAD:

Police in Nepal have released the names of those missing in the flood disaster, including foreign nationals.

A partial list of the missing people available on their Facebook page as of 1pm local time had the names of eight women and 15 men from Malaysia:

12. Kalai Mathe Karuppaiah, 57

13. Jason Ngeow, 56

14. Inthumathy Subramaniam, 54

15. Gunavathy Muthusamy, 60

16. Gunanesan Vellaisamy, 58

17. Eswary Maniraj, 35

18. Brabaakaran Krishnan, 47

19. Balasingam Kesavan, 71

The police in Nepal have also prepared a list with photographs of unidentified victims who lost their lives in the disaster to help families identify their loved ones. The list can be accessed through a QR code on the Nepali police Facebook page.

Wisma Putra said today that it had received reports of 57 Malaysians who remained uncontactable following the floods. - FMT
