Zahid said the meeting was aimed at coordinating efforts to find a solution to the impasse without interfering in the state administration.
"Tonight, I will hold a meeting with all the Negri Sembilan BN assemblymen, as well as assemblymen from Pas and Parti Wawasan Negara, the 25 assemblymen at this building (Umno headquarters), to coordinate - without intending to interfere - but to find the best solution to the crisis currently facing Negri Sembilan," he said.
He said this after attending the opening of the 18th Makkal Sakti Malaysia Party General Assembly at Dewan Tun Dr Ismail, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
Zahid said the views of the 25 assemblymen would be taken into consideration in determining the options available to resolve the situation.
"Tonight, we will discuss what options we can take. But all 25 assemblymen who have formed more than two-thirds of the government in Negri Sembilan, the mandate given to them must continue to be prioritised, and the solution will come from them," he said.
He said the state administration must continue to function smoothly following the revocation and gazettement of the appointments of 10 state executive councillors.
The Negri Sembilan political crisis has intensified following the revocation of the appointments of 10 state executive council (exco) members by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, which took effect on Sept 20.
The gazette stated that the appointments were revoked after the 10 exco members breached their oath of allegiance to Tuanku Muhriz.
The revocation was made under Article 38(5) of the Negri Sembilan Constitution 1959.
The 10 are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
The revocation came a week after they issued a statement affirming a proclamation seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz.
However, the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang maintained that the proclamation was invalid under the state Constitution, law and customs.
The dispute centres on the status of Tuanku Muhriz as Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the constitutional validity of the proclamation seeking his removal.
The Attorney-General's Chambers has also said the proclamation was invalid and that there were no grounds for Tuanku Muhriz's removal under the state Constitution.
The impasse between the Negri Sembilan palace and the state administration has been ongoing since April, when the Undang Yang Empat proclaimed the removal of Tuanku Muhriz. - NST
