KOTA KINABALU: Popular Malaysian blogger, Raja Petra Kamarudin, is scheduled to give two public lectures on “Malaysian politics post-2008 election tsunami” in Australia in March.
Better known by his initials RPK, the now London-based fugitive blogger and political activist will speak at the University of Sydney from 5pm to 7pm on March 11.
Attendance is free and is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
On March 12, RPK is to appear at a dinner talk at the Kammadhenu Restaurant, Neutral Bay, in Sydney. Ticket for this event is being sold at A$450 per table, or A$50 per person, and A$35 for student.
Registration is at 6pm while the dinner talk will start at 6.30pm.
Those interested to attend may contact Mrs Robinson at 0406 694 656, or Khairuddin at 0417 728 898, or John Khoo at 0412 231 110.
Raja Petra, who is known for his usual no-holds-barred style, is on the run for fear of detention if he returns to Malaysia for his role in calling for change in the country.
The father of six, through his writting in his blog and letters, continues to be an icon in Malaysia, especially among those who seek change in the uninterrupted 53 years of Umno’s rule over a fragmented plural society. - FMT
